About Us

Teacher Grace

My career as an early childhood educator has been extremely fulfilling and has enabled me to actively teach & study in the
childcare field since 1990. As a mother of 2 children and as an educator, I have made it my goal to ensure that all children be given the opportunity to experience enriched programs. These programs not only stimulate their natural curiosity in the world around them but also nurture their sense of individuality.

Our approach to education

Teach me and I’ll remember today.
Show me and I’ll remember tomorrow.
Allow me to discover and I’ll remember forever.

A brief outline of our Modified Montessori Preschool

Our  program in an enriched, stimulating environment with a wide range of materials and activities allowing each child to explore at their own pace promoting individual growth. The prepared environment for the children's age group or stage of development. The environment for the children between the ages of 3 - 6 years mainly consists of the following areas.

Exercises of Practical Life
In this area of the classroom children develop their coordination and motor skills while becoming absorbed in every day activities. Children develop the coordination of movement while becoming confident and independent at problem solving, thus gradually increasing their span of concentration.
Practical life exercises instill care for themselves, for others and for the environment.

Sensorial Materials
A young child meets the world around him/her through their constant use of all their senses. Sensorial materials are the tools for development and refinement, and incorporates all areas of the preschool.

Mathematical Materials
These are motives of activity by means of which a child discovers the joy of mathematics through our every day activities.

Language
These are motives of activity by which a child acquires the basic skills for reading. Sand paper letters, art, music, stories, drama and dancing are all part of human beings means of expression, and are vital every day activities at Mountain View Preschool.

Science and Nature
